“I’m a mainstream designer, and I realised that after this announcement, people started looking at me differently. In a span of two weeks, I got so much more work on my plate. People always have impressions of the fashion world that it only revolves around skinny models, drugs, parties, etc. So, in lieu of that, the Padma Shri got it a lot of respect.” said Wendell Rodricks who feels humbled post receiving the honour.
Malaika Arora Khan, Zayed Khan, Farah Khan Ali, Tisca Chopra, Maria Goretti, Pooja Bedi, Evelyn Sharma, Carol Gracious and many noted designers like Neeta Lulla, Nishika Lulla, Masaba Gupta, Nishka Lulla, Neeta Lulla and Rocky S came in to congratulate Wendell Rodricks.
Farah Khan Ali who looked stunning in a peacock coloured maxi, came in along with husband DJ Aqeel and brother Zayed Khan.
Cricketers Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar too came in to congratulate Wendell Rodricks and had a blast with their buddies.
Malaika Arora Khan looked smoking hot in an all black one-shoulder, Wendell Rodricks jumpsuit while Evelyn Sharma, who recently took up designing herself, sported a creation from her own collection.
Model Carol Gracious showed off her body in a figure hugging dress and one could not take their eyes off her gold strappy sandals.
Amrita Puri who made a mark in Kai Po Che looked drop dead gorgeous in a simple loosely fitted dress by designer Ritu Kumar dress and Maria Goretti looked pretty in a black kurta with colourful churridar pants that matched her hot pink lips and clutch.
While Pooja Bedi picked a plain bottle green strapless dress for the night. It was Mini Mathur who shocked us with a dress that has too many colors on it.
Former VJ Pia Trivedi looked chic in a white blouse, green skirt and nude coloured heels while model Aanchal Kumar kept it simple and elegant with a shimmery dress, black pumps and a matching clutch.
