The actress who has made India proud globally, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had to face humiliation at the Cannes Festival courtesy the promoters (Producers) of her next film.
Aishwarya was in Cannes lately to promote her next film Jazbaa directed by Sanjay Gupta and co produced by Sachin Joshi. As per a source present at the festival in Cannes, the world media and the locals lined up against the barriers of gate, outside the Indian Pavilion to take a glimpse of the Indian (Bollywood diva) actress Aishwarya also a popular celebrity in Cannes who was poignantly barred entry by the security supervisors (Cannes) on the gate.
Satish Reddy, the Managing Director of World News Network who was present at the event confirms, “ The security personnel’s didn’t allow Aishwarya the access to the Indian Pavilion because she was not in possession of the mandatory Blue Pass”. Reddy Added, “Therefore, Aishwarya and the whole Jazbaa team Director Sanjay Gupta and Co producer Sachin Joshi had to wait 20 or more minutes at the gate”.
It is learnt that the goof up occurred due to the negligence of the promoters of the Jazbaa event. “It was the prompt initiative taken by Indian Embassy Protocol officer Satyapaul and the FICCI representatives who saved the day for the actress and her film producers,” concluded Reddy.
Indian Embassy Protocol Officer Satyapaul in his E-mail correspondence to World News Network reveals, “The car in which Mrs Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was seated had no Blue Permission sticker that gives admission to the guests in the pavilion. They were barred on the gates. We had to rush and convince the chief security officer. It took us inside an hour to convince that Mrs Bachchan was a global celebrity. Even though the security chief on the pretext of we who will handle the police in case of double check granted a verbal permission. Finally all went on well,” said Paul.
Satya Paul blames the organisers for this humiliating goof up and as an Indian representing the country abroad he claims to have extended his support in goodwill. “It is the work of organizers to get the permissions in place. In this case I extended my support because she (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) is an Indian primarily who apparently is also the pride of our country and also the guest in our Indian Pavilion. It makes me proud,” concludes Satya Paul.
Producer Rizwan Khan along with other dignitaries who were present at the Indian Pavilion appreciated the prompt efforts of the Indian Embassy and FICCI as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a leading brand name in India and globally, hence a big embarrassment was averted.
Sources say that the actress was upset with the fiasco and left the venue instantly after her professional commitment was done. Well we tried to contact Jazbaa movie Director Sanjay Gupta and asked him about the incident he denied with any such kind of happening and producer Sachin Joshi was unavailable for comment.
