MUMBAI: Ponds Femina Miss India 2013, in its 50th year of “celebrating womenhood”, was graced by the who’s who of Bollywood and former winners of the pageant. Most notably, the event marked the return of the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on stage, after three whole years.
The event was judged by filmmaker Karan Johar, choreographer Shiamak Dawar, cricketer Yuvraj Singh, fashion designer Ritu Kumar and actors John Abraham, Asin and Chitrangada Singh.
The bollywood beauties put on their fashion best. Chitrangada opted for a suitable red gown and Asin looked lovely in a violet floor length gown.
Former Miss Universe and Miss India, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan danced most gracefully to the song ‘Udi’ from her last film ‘Guzaarish’ (2010). Shiamak Dawar who choreographed her performance tweeted before the event, “Rehearsing with Aishwarya for Femina Miss India. Memories from when I choreographed her for Miss World. Don’t miss it today.”
Priyanka Chopra who is also a former Miss India and Miss World grooved to her trademark ‘Desi Girl’ looking simply breathtaking.
Sunday night Navneet Kaur Dhillon was crowned Femina Miss India 2013 in the star studded grand finale of the beauty pageant. The first and second runners-up were Sobhita Dhulipala and Zoya Afroz respectively.
