MUMBAI: There has been a lot of chatter on who will be the international factor of entertainment at the IPL 6 opening ceremony, ever since singing sensation Jennifer Lopez declined the offer.
After a lot of efforts from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s end to convince Lopez, it looks like the deal did not come through after all.
But looks like the host this year – SRK – has now finally found a suitable alternative in the form of international rapper Pitbull.
Pitbull, famous for his International hits like M.I.M.A.I., Armando and Planet pit, has a massive fan following in India. The rapper says he is very excited and looking forward to perform in Kolkata.
Revealed an insider, “When Pitbull was told that he is being invited to perform at the opening ceremony of IPL and SRK would also be performing as well, he agreed to come within minutes.”
After Shah Rukh’s team the Kolkata Knight Riders won the fifth season of IPL (Indian Premier League) series last year, the winners are all set to host the opening gala. SRK’s gorgeous ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ co-star Katrina Kaif is readying to give a sizzling performance.
As far as the cricketing is concerned, the IPL league will have nine teams, including the Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Pune Warriors India, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals fighting for the championship.
