After Paa, Amitabh Bachchan will again don prosthetics for Umesh Shukla‘s upcoming film, 102 Not Out. Mr. Bachchan is all set to essay the role of a hundred and two year old man, who wants to achieve the world record of being the longest living person.
102 Not Out is an adaptation of Abhijat Joshi‘s brother, Saumya Joshi‘s Gujarati play by the same name. The filmmakers will reportedly hire few international artistes to help Amitabh Bachchan to achieve the look.
During the filming of Paa, where Mr. Bachchan has essayed the role of a twelve year old who suffers from progeria, a genetic disorder, which leads to quick acceleration of ageing process in children, make-up artists from Hollywood were called. It is said that it used to take three to four hours of prosthetics makeup to get that look.
102 Not Out, will also star Paresh Rawal and Usha Jadhav. AB Corporation Ltd., T-Series and Umesh Shukla are producing the film.
Currently Amitabh Bachchan is in Goa where he is shooting for R. Balki’s untitled film with Dhanush and Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter, Akshara Haasan.
Amitabh Bachchan had recently said that he was nervous and excited to commence shoot with R. Balki and wrote the same on twitter: “First day shoot new project R. Balki, nervous, apprehensions, discomfort, uncertainty, butterflies. Goa is a haven for those that wish to wish nothing in life. Silent, redundant thoughts and the time of nostalgia overcomes me each visit to this warm and inviting destination.”
Shooting in Goa brought back a lot of memories and Mr. Bachchan said, “It is hard to forget the various films that were shot here, in what circumstances they were made and what they look like now. But each and everyone of those incidents etched a mark on my system.”
Here’s wishing him all the success and we do hope to see him in many more such films.
