Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is one of the most respected and talented artist, would be afraid of anybody? But at a recent function in Mumbai on Monday, Big B revealed that he was afraid of mastro Ilaiyaraaja. The actor revealed that he was frightened by the very thought of singing in front of multi-talented Ilaiyaraaja.
The function was to felicitate 72-year old Ilaiyaraaja for completing the music of his 1,000th film, ‘Shamitabh’. Amitabh Bachchan talked about his experience working with the very talented Ilaiyaraaja in the film, and told that the thought of singing in front of him was frightening, so he never dared.

“I have never dared to sing in front of him because I found it very embarrassing. Every time, I used to sit in a studio separately to record. I remember one occasion during Paa, where I had to sing a song with Raja saab in front of me. I can’t say how frightening it was,” said Amitabh Bachchan during the music launch of ‘Shamitabh’.
‘Shamitabh’ actor Amitabh Bachchan called Ilaiyaraaja a genius. Well, that’s like one genius appreciating the talents of another genius, so inspiring! Another legend, actor Kamal Haasan was also present at the event. The actor has worked with Ilaiyaraaja and this is what he said, “Raja has become a part of my life. Today, I got the opportunity of hugging him. He is a bit shy. I knew that he would do his 1000th film and I am glad that his 786th film was with me.”
Big B plays a drunkard film industry veteran, and when Amitabh and Dhanush finally meet, the journey of ‘Shamitabh’ begins, and also their hidden rivalry. Kamal Haasan’s daughter Akshara Haasan will be making her Bollywood debut with ‘Shamitabh’.
The film is set to hit theatres on February 6, 2015.
