MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was present at the launch party, to celebrate ace French shoe designer Christian Louboutin’s second flagship store in India, at Horniman Circle in Mumbai.
Welcoming virtuoso footwear designer Christian Louboutin, who is famous for his red-lacquered soles that are now his signature, was a large contingent of Bollywood stars, which was helmed by the very stylish and very princely Amitabh Bachchan himself.
Mr. Bachchan was the epitome of style and grace, as he walked the red carpet at the store launch event. Looking dapper in a disco-blue suit and his signature snow-white beard, the Shehenshah of Indian cinema Amitabh Bachchan oozed classy sophistication and chutzpah.
Amitabh Bachchan was seen interacting with Christian Louboutin himself, perhaps asking for a pair of designer pumps or two for himself and his sartorially successful family.
Post the party, the Big B wrote on his blog, “Monsieur Christian Louboutin, the famous French footwear designer opens a store in Mumbai, and I have just returned after attending its opening… Some of his works are most unusual and exclusive, with some trademark features, such as, the sole of each footwear is red in color!! The ones I wore for the Steven Spielberg conversation were his make… smart eh?? Christian was at the Morocco Film Festival, and we did a photo shoot together, where he actually got hold of a peacock and placed it by my side!! Was a bit apprehensive, but all went well… the national bird behaved… perhaps realising the presence of its own countrymen around!”
The very eclectic and fashionable Abhay Deol (redefining nerdy chic) came in for the party, along with his girlfriend Preeti Desai. Hrithik Roshan’s gorgeous wife Sussanne Roshan was seen minus her husband.
Bombay socialite Natasha Poonawala strutted her stuff in a short beige, high-waisted, belted number, and was seen mingling with designers Ramona Narang and Nachiket Barve. Ramesh Sippy’s daughter Sheena Sippy was also seen at the Christian Louboutin store launch.
