The news of senior actor Vinod Khanna passing away has created a mourning atmosphere in Bollywood.

With Karan Johar, whose production house is co-producing Baahubali 2, cancelling the premier of this S.S Rajamoulis magnum opus, even Amitabh Bachchan did something for Vinod Khanna you cannot imagine.

Amitabh Bachchan reportedly rushed to Vinod Khanna’s family’s side after hearing the news of his death. According to reports, he was giving an interview for his upcoming film Sarkar 3.

Firstpost has quoted a source as saying, “He reportedly left his interview mid-way to rush to the hospital to be with Khanna’s family.”

He was among those who offered their condolences to the grieving family including wife Kavita Khanna, sons Rahul, Akshaye and Sakshi, and daughter Shraddha Khanna.

Though there have been several reports claiming that back in the 70s and 80s Amitabh Bachchan was considered to be the biggest rival of Vinod Khanna. They were both rising stars and acted together in films like Parvarish, Khoon Pasina, Hera Pheri, Amar Akbar Anthony.

The two senior actors have never admitted to this in public. According to reports, in an interview, Vinod Khanna said that they were competitors, but not rivals. While Big B was making it big in Bollywood, I moved on to politics.

Vinod Khanna passed away on Thursday late morning at HN Reliance foundation and Research Foundation in Mumbai. He was 70 and was suffering from bladder cancer for a long time.

He acted in many superhit films and gave a memorable performance in movies such as Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Gaddar, Inkaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Rajput, Qurbani, Dayavaan, and among others.
