Only recently we spoke about films that are cults but couldn’t secure the same status at the box office when they released. In a weird twist of fate, they draw huge TRP’s when aired on television even today. That made us wonder, should they get released now and it seems someone heard us. Andaz Apna Apna will be re-released again in November.
Vinay Kumar Singh holds the rights to the film and is interested in re-releasing the film in a big way. The film has a loyal base of fans and Singh is looking to tap the fan base. Singh is pretty excited about the re-release and wants the entire cast to be present at the event to announce the same.
Andaz Apna Apna stars Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Paresh Rawal. The film released in 1994 on November o4.
However, we are also confused whether to be happy or concerned about this development. PVR had re-released Sholay and other hits in a big way recently but it didn’t receive much favour from the audience.
Although Amar-Prem’s quirky love-hate comedy is a favourite of more than half the population of India, would someone want to shell out money for tickets and watch it at theatres when they can easily watch it on television?
