On the ongoing intolerance debate in the country, Bollywood’s veteran actor Anupam Kher was nowhere behind and afraid on questioning Aamir Khan for his such remark on the country.
At the eighth edition of the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards, Aamir Khan said, “When I chat with Kiran at home, she says, ‘should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm.”
After Aamir’s this comment, Anupam Kher who had recently taken out ‘March For India’ protest to Rashtrapati Bhavan, against the people who were returning their National awards, took to his twitter handle to question Aamir Khan.
In the series of his tweets, Anupam Kher tweeted, “ Dear @aamir_khan. Did you ask Kiran which country would she like to move out to? Did you tell her that this country has made you AAMIR KHAN.”
Not only Anupam Kher, even actor Paresh Rawal too questioned on Aamir Khan’s remark saying, “A true patriot will not run away and leave his motherland behind in turmoil”
