[tps_footer]Rajesh Wadhawan Group-owned Pune franchise of the Indian Super League (ISL) – FC Pune City – introduced youth icon Mr. Arjun Kapoor as their new brand ambassador for the inaugural season of the ISL 2014. Mr. Hrithik Roshan, co-owner of FC Pune City announced this in the city, ahead of the team’s first home encounter with FC Goa at the Balewadi Stadium today.

Addressing a press conference here alongside Mr Hrithik Roshan and Mr Arjun Kapoor, Mr Gaurav Modwel, CEO of FC Pune City said, “In the formative years of FC Pune City, we want to be associated with people who share a common passion for sport and football. With our tie-up with ACF Fiorentina, our partnership with Mr Hrithik Roshan as co-owner, and our current signing up of Mr Arjun Kapoor as our brand ambassador, we are a formidable force. We are today a strong group of young and passionate football lovers who will not only expand the reach of FC Pune City to the masses but also be a part of the Club’s extended think tank”.

Mr Arjun Kapoor, is known for being a die-hard fan of the English premier league club Chelsea FC. He will now be seen supporting FC Pune City, as the team gets ready for their first home encounter against FC Goa.

The Inaugural season of the Indian Super League kicked off earlier this month with a star-studded opening ceremony at Kolkata, the home of Indian football. Mr Hrithik Roshan and Marquee Frenchman David Trezeguet introduced FC Pune City to Indian football enthusiasts, at the glittering launch ceremony.

Mr Arjun Kapoor said, “The enthusiasm and interest in the sport is what drives me to be a part of this mega league. Football has always been very dear to me and I have grown up playing and following football. So, it was natural for me to take the first opportunity to associate with a promising football club in the Indian Super League, more so if it represents India’s youth capital Pune. I would like to thank Hrithik and the Rajesh Wadhawan Group for giving me this opportunity.”

Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex (Balewadi Stadium) will serve as the home ground for FC Pune City. The Balewadi stadium is a new-age international sports complex with a seating capacity of 12000 spectators. It is also one of the 8 stadiums selected for the FIFA 2017 Youth World Cup.
