Bollywood’s young’un Arjun Kapoor has reportedly been roped in for the biopic of Indian cricketer turned coach Kapil Dev. A movie based on the 1983 World Cup win is on the roll and casting for the same has reportedly been done offering Arjun Kapoor the lead role.
Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the founder and MD of the Celebrity Cricket League, has done the plotting of the film. And according to sources, Vishnu Induri thinks Arjun Kapoor will be the perfect actor to play the role of Kapil Dev who was the hero of the 1983 World Cup match. “Arjun has been approached with the role and he is seriously considering it. Actors for the other characters have also been briefed and an official announcement regarding the same will soon be made,” a source revealed.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is currently gearing up for the biopic based on Indian cricketer and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni directed by Neeraj Pandey. And now Arjun Kapoor might be seen in the role of ex captain Kapil Dev. The Tevar actor is currently doing no movies so this might be the first movie Arjun will sign this year.
Amidst the AIB Roast controversies involving Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh that have made the lives of the organizers and participators miserable, it is a positive sign to see Arjun Kapoor back to business. However, nothing can be said until the official announcement.
