Film Hawaizaada, directed by the debutant Vibhu Puri, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Sharda has been made tax free in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh government has exempted the film from entertainment tax!
Reliance Entertainment’s Hawaizaada is inspired by from the life of Indian scientist Shivkar Bapuji Talpade, who is said to have invented the first ever aeroplane eight years before the Wright Brothers. In an interview with Business of Cinema few days ago, Ayushmann Khurrana had said, “His (Shivkar Talpade) resources were less, but he was intelligent enough to dig into the knowledge bank of ancient India and bring to truth an unthinkable dream! His story is extremely interesting and we are telling the untold story of an unsung hero.” The film is set to hit the screens tomorrow, on 30th January 2015.
This is the second film, almost back to back, for which UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav chose to waive off the entertainment taxes; earlier Rajkumar Hirani /Aamir Khan’s PK had been granted this favour.
