Ramya Krishnan, who plays Sivagami Devi in Baahubali series, talks about the scariest scene of the series!
This is the day every Baahubali fan was waiting for! The answer to the question as to why Katappa killed Baahubali will be answered today in the theatres. But even after Baahubali 2 is here, we cannot forget the iconic Baahubali: The Beginning, which made us all a huge fan of not only SS Rajamouli and Prabhas, but also the entire star cast of the film.
One such prominent role in the film is that of Sivagami Devi played by the actress, Ramya Krishnan. How can we all forget that iconic scene of Sivagami holding Baahubali in her hands, saving him from drowning? Well, according to the actress, she found that scene the toughest.
She talks about that scene and her fears saying, “When we were shooting for Baahubali: The Beginning, I had to shoot this sequence where I had to hold the baby above the water while I was under. This was a tough scene for me to shoot because the current was fast and I had to stay underwater. Chalakudy falls in Kerala is beautiful, but for a scene like this, it was tough to fight the current. At times, I even thought that I might drown.”
She added further saying, “SS Rajamouli had told me that I have to look fearless no matter what. So, when I was under the water, I was extremely scared but once out, I had the expression of bravery on my face.”
Ramya also reveals that it was the first script of her career, during the narration of which she didn’t fall asleep. The actress says, “Usually, when a director narrates a story to me, I feel extremely sleepy. But when Rajamouli was narrating Baahubali for over two hours, I could not even close my eyes. I think, in my career, this is the first film where I did not sleep.”
