40 years ago, on this day Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Deewar’ was released. It was one of the films that turned Amitabh Bachchan into a megastar. Big B took to his Twitter account to express his heartfelt gratitude towards the famous writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.
Amitabh Bachchan twitted, “T 1745 – 40 years ! 40 years ago, this day, DEEWAR was released !! 21st Jan 1975 .. Thank you Salim-Javed Saheb for the most perfect script.”
Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Vijay Verma in the film, and because of this role, he came to know as Bollywood’s ‘angry young man’. The same year, Big B was also nominated for the Best Actor Award.‘Deewar’ won Filmfare award for Best Movie, in addition to six other Filmfare awards.
