[tps_footer]Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wife Sakshi revealed the poster of a biopic on him on Twitter. We loved the image. Captain calm on celluloid definitely made us happy. Who doesn’t want to know about a man who took India to great heights by taking some of the much debated and disputed decisions on the field? But there are also other sportsmen we would love to know about more. Here is our wishlist of biopics
Sachin Tendulkar
He is the God and we definitely want to know how he became one. The struggles of being the most revered batsman in the world, pressured by an over expecting Indian public and the lows he hit in his career…we would love to know all about this man. Today he is sacred and is worshipped by budding cricketers.
Baichung Bhutia
Football was always there but hardly enjoyed the hoopla of cricket. West Bengal is the only state that struggled to keep the interest alive in this 90 minute game and one man who helped make it tad famous was Baichung Bhutia. Such was his popularity that even TV couldn’t stay away from his charm and got him for a season of Jhalak Dikhla Ja. It would be interesting to know how he helped a sport which receives limited patronage in India.
Dhyan Chand
There was a time when Indian Hockey was in its peak. Olympic golds were cakewalk for us. And it was this man called Dhyan Chand who helped India win the same in 1928, 1932 and 1936. India dominated the field hockey section and was dreaded. His biopic will make us believe that Hockey did see a glorious period and deserve to regain its lost glory.
Saurav Ganguly
He is known as one of the most successful captains of Indian National Cricket team but Saurav Ganguly had a checkered career. His rise and fall is nothing less than monumental. All his triumphs and struggle will make for an interesting watch.
Yuvraj Singh
When success happens to you too early, it sometimes affects you wrongly. Yuvraj Singh’s career graph does signify that. His biopic will be a lesson for budding cricketers on how to handle success. Also, his troubled childhood, cancer survival will make for a great cinematic experience.
P T Usha
Hardly does a woman manage to get a respectable tribute for her job. Mary Kom’s biopic paved the way of beginning biopic on sportswoman and one other woman who deserves a biopic in P T Usha. She is the Queen of Indian Track and Record and still holds it.
