Geting into the skin of a character is something not many do in Bollywood. Stars work in films with their stardom as a weapon and rest everything gets ignored. But at times, they do go the extra mile to get in perfect and requisite shape for a role. Here are some of the actors who got into grueling workouts to be in shape.
Shah Rukh Khan for Happy New Year
Getting packs is no big deal for Shah Rukh Khan. He did it for Om Shanti Om and now repeated it for Happy New Year. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t toil for it. For a man who is touching 50, such strenuous exercise is an inspiration in itself. His trainer Prashant made him work five days a week and generally lasts at nights because Shah Rukh is a nocturnal person. He was on a strict diet too. Such dedication and such was the reward!
Hrithik Roshan for Bang Bang
We all drooled over his great chiseled physique in Bang Bang. It was difficult to take our eyes off those abs but if you think those were easy to gain, you are mistaken. Hrithik’s nutritionist put him on a six small meals a day diet rather than three square meals. Plus, the actor worked our rigorously with Kris Gethin and voila! He became the cynosure of all eyes.
Aamir Khan for Ghajini
Aamir Khan played a man with short term memory loss out to get revenge on the person who killed his sweetheart. You need a body to fight it out and Aamir acquired one with utmost dedication. He created an uproar with his six pack abs in the film. A lot of strict, low carb, high fibre diet and rigorous exercise made him look like that. He rocked it!

The actor has been put on high protein diet to bulk up. He has to increase his muscle weight to look like a wrestler.
Farhan Akhtar
Farhan always had a lean frame but acquiring an athletes body is no mean job. He was put on a strict diet and the man used to workout 4 hours daily in shifts of two. He didn’t require abs, he required a body that looked like a sprinter’s body. And he did a fab job at it.

Shahid Kapoor always had a good physique. He is a gym regular whether or not it is for a role. But for Kaminey he got into intensive workouts to look the part. He was also on a strict diet to achieve that.

Ranveer Singh had 12 weeks to get in chiseled shape but given his dedication he achieved it in six weeks which even surprised his trainer. He was on two day on or one day off schedule that worked perfectly with his many commitments. He needed to be lean enough for the look and he achieved it perfectly.
Arjun Kapoor
Arjun had a really grueling task for him when he decided to turn actor for Ishaqzade. He was overweight at 140 kgs and needed to lose the unwanted body fat. Salman Khan helped him immensely in this regard. The actor trained with him for four years to get that physique. He did core conditioning.
John Abraham for Force
John Abraham is big on staying fit. He just had to bulk up more for Force and he did it convincingly. He used to workout twice a day and eat protein rich food to gain muscle weight. But since he is a vegetarian, his trainer had issues chalking out his diet. But they managed it well with Soya and others, he looked rough and tough in Force.
