MUMBAI: The city witnessed a peace rally in the name of 26/11 attack victims on 25th November, Sunday.
The peace rally, termed the ‘Global Peace Initiative’, was held at the Gateway of India in Mumbai, in memory of the hideous terrorist attacks on Mumbai city, 26/11/2008. We spotted some Bollywood actors and celebrities at this somber peace rally.
Among the stars present, we spotted Vivek Oberoi in a white kurta, blue jeans and sunglasses. Also present were Raageshwari Loomba, Sowmya Tandon and Shashi Tharoor. The brave Kia Scherr was also at the rally. Scherr is the president of NGO One Life Alliance, and is also a family member of a deceased 26/11 attack victim (she lost her husband and daughter in the attacks).
Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi took to the stage during the Global Peace Initiative to commemorate in memory of victims of 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. He spoke passionately about the innocent lives that were lost on that fateful day.
Shashi Tharoor, Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development was also present during the Global Peace Initiative to commemorate in memory of victims of 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. The man was seen speaking eloquently about the attacks, and was spotted getting clicked with Raageshwari as well at the Gateway of India.
Meanwhile, the producers of Ram Gopal Varma-directed ‘The Attacks of 26/11’ have announced that profits earned from the film are going to be donated to victims and heroes of the 2008 terror attacks.
“I don’t look at this film as a commercial venture. The profit that will be earned from the film will be given to the victims and heroes of the Mumbai attacks. It is a huge film for me. It’s a very expensive film,” said the Producer Parag Sanghvi.
Added Sanghvi, “We didn’t get to shoot the film in the original locations, so we had to create the entire set. We had to create the CST Station, so it wasn’t easy at all. The idea to make the film is that we want the world to see what happened that day. It’s been a very emotional journey. We are planning to release the film early next year. I want to take this film across the world.”
