MUMBAI: Bollywood actor and superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently attended a book launch based on legendary Bollywood singer Mohammed Rafi.

The book, ‘Mohammed Rafi My Abba’ is penned by author and daughter-in-law of legendary singer Mohammed Rafi, Yasmin Khalid Rafi. The super stylish 70 year old actor was seen at the launch, at Taj Land’s End, in a sharp steel grey suit with an emerald tie, and those trademark reading glasses.

The man is known to be a big fan of legendary singer Mohammed Rafi, and had tweeted about the launch saying, “T 943 – Back from the book release ‘Mohd Rafi – mere abba ‘, a short sweet ceremony leaving a good taste .. Book written by daughter in law.”

Mr. Bachchan is undoubtedly one of the most revered cinematic idols in the country. And now, with the advent of technology, it has become easier for his fans to reach out to the megalith man.

Says the actor, who regards his fans as extended family, “My extended family, my extended family grows here too on this busy platform. On blog it is my extended family, on Twitter it is Twitter Familia Extendum and now on Facebook it shall have to be Facebook Extended Family. Thank you for being a part of me,” Bachchan posted on Facebook, which has got 3.3 million likes, Sunday.

An inveterate blogger, the 70-year-old started blogging in 2008 and has been regular since. ”The joy of connecting with my friends and well wishers even at the late hour of 3 a.m. is worth…. Once you start you never want to stop.”

“The conversation, the comments, the appreciation and the criticism is an essential part of the cyber world. It makes one stronger and longer in its stay. It was a late day at KBC – two episodes to record,” he posted.

Amitabh Bachchan joined the social networking site Facebook in August this year, and within just an hour of the activation, the page received 784,417 likes. On Twitter, he currently has 39,41,270 followers.
