Dosti
We are sure the youngsters of today have not watched this gem of a movie but you must. Nothing can be as invigorating and emotional as Dosti. A blind man and a deaf guy make for an interesting friendship. It is the story of their life, pain, pathos, struggles and ultimate achievement and is truly inspiring.
Sholay
This is one film which never loses its sheen. Jai and Veeru’s friendship is a benchmark for a close friendship. If you aren’t Jai-Veeru close, you aren’t friends at all. Laying your life for your friend is an emotion not seen in many films and that makes it the best film on friendship ever made.
Dil Chahta Hai
Friendships change with age and Dil Chahta Hai was the first film to depict that. Even if there are three people in a friendship, there three personalities involved and thought process can clash. This is a coming of age film which has been beautifully narrated by Farhan Akhtar.
Rang De Basanti
Here again you have friends avenging their friend’s death which was a planned attack. Unless you feel this strongly about your friend, sacrifice doesn’t happen easily. Rang De Basanti taught us how that happens. Although it is too rebellious and extreme in nature, it definitely instilled in us what being together can fulfill.
3 Idiots
Is there anything called selfless friendship? Hardly so but Rajkumar Hirani made us believe in it with 3 Idiots. A guy who posed as someone else in college, thrived only to make sure his friends don’t get sucked into oblivion. It is a hilarious and moving take on life, friendship and education.
