MUMBAI: The “dark horse” of Indian cinema. Son of legendary Bollywood superstar. Husband to the most beautiful woman in the world. Proud papa. Abhishek Bachchan has many identities; but the one we’re going to focus on today is “Birthday Boy”. Join us in wishing Junior Bachchan a very happy birthday today.
The unassuming star has had many false starts in his decade-long career, and has finally tasted success in the last year with Rohit Shetty’s super successful comic caper ‘Bol Bachchan’. The actor, who turns 37 today, has seen many ups and downs in his career. From debuting in a critically acclaimed but commercially average ‘Refugee’, to starring in multi-starrer films like ‘Yuva’ and ‘Dhoom 2’, Abhishek has certainly come a long way. He rose to see success with mani Ratnam’s ‘Yuva’ and ‘Guru’; and has since acted in several big-budget films.
But Abhishek is best remembered for his double-role in Rohit Shetty’s 2012 film: ‘Bol Bachchan’. This is the film that’s really put him in the big league. Says the star, with utmost humility: “The credit for my performance in ‘Bol Bachchan’ goes solely to Rohit and Ajay (Devgn). Both of them took a chance on me, and really helped me get the comic timing right. Ajay being the superstar that he is, really took the pains to help me with my performance. He needn’t have been there when he wasn’t scheduled to shoot, but he made it a point to be there and help me with my lines, and I shall be forever indebted to him.”
And it’s going to be a quiet birthday for Abhishek, who’s struggled to earn the success he’s now enjoying. Reportedly, Abhishek will be working today, to shoot portions of his upcoming film ‘Dhoom 3’. It will be a quiet celebration post that, most probably at home with Abhishek’s close friends and family.
Here’s wishing the talented actor a very happy birthday!
