Box Office: Padmaavat Surpass 100 Crore In Just 4 Days, Becomes Shahid Kapoor’s Highest Grossing Film

Watch Padmavati Song Ek Dil Ek Jaan: Shahid Kapoor-Deepika Padukone's Chemistry Is Endearing!

The much talked about and highly anticipated Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial  Padmaavat finally released last week. After much back and forth on the release date, the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor starrer opened to mixed reactions with certain sections of the audience flocking theatres, while in other territories the film failed to secure a single show due to protests. However, despite the hurdles Padmaavat opened on a good note.

After the first weekend itself, the magnum opus has entered the 100 crore club and minted Rs 114 crore over the long weekend which went by. In just a matter of four days, the movie has shown that despite the negative flak which rose to a never before level, it successfully kept the buzz around it alive and is going super strong at the BO.

Here is a cut down version of how the movie fared at the box-office.

January 28 – Rs 31 crore
January 27 – Rs 27 crore
January 26 – Rs 32 crore
January 25 – Rs 19 crore
January 24 (Paid Previews) – Rs 5 crore

Shahid Kapoor also joined the 100 crore club as it became his first film which crossed the phenomenal mark and we clearly feel he deserves this. Before this, the top three movies in terms of box-office success were  R…Rajkumar (64 crores), Udta Punjab (59.60 crore) and Haider (58.30 crore). We are sure it will also be his first movie which will soon join the 200 and the 300 crore club as well. Also, Deepika Padukone is now being termed as the Queen of the 100 Crore Club as it is her 7th film to join this elite club after  Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Bajirao Mastani, Ram-Leela and Race 2.

Despite getting banned in many states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Goa, the movie is shining strongly and we hope it continues the sparkle. The movie stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in pivotal roles.
