[tps_footer]Everyone knows what a hard working, energetic actor Shah Rukh Khan is, right? But recently, Shah Rukh’s obstinate, brave side was also revealed.
Shah Rukh Khan, last week, suffered a freak accident on sets of Farah Khan’s upcoming directorial, Happy New Year. The cast and crew were shooting in Mumbai’s posh suburban 7-star hotel JW Marriott, when a door got unhinged and collapsed on his head.
The handsome superstar began bleeding profusely, and was rushed to the nearby Nanavati hospital for immediate medical attention. Though he put up a brave front by returning to the sets soon after the incident, doctors have since then advised him full rest for three weeks.
Said a source close to the actor: “Shah Rukh Khan went through a fresh set of tests last night post the shoot. His right shoulder is fractured and the left knee patella is torn. Now doctors have advised him to take complete bed rest for the next three weeks.”
Even Farah Khan, the maker of superhits like Om Shanti Om and Main Hoon Na, is currently extremely concerned about her lead actor. Farah had to play quite the taskmaster on set, and ensure Shah Rukh Khan did not overstrain himself and worsen his injuries.
So while SRK firmly maintains it is a “minor injury”, sources indicate the problem could be a lot more serious. The fact remains that King Khan is in “excruciating pain” and is only “putting up a brave front to ensure that the schedule is not affected.”
Farah said, “His knee is busted and the shoulder has gone for a toss. His head too was bleeding profusely. Any other actor would have gone on a two-month rest, but we’ve only pushed the schedule back by a week. We’ll re-start with the low-intensity scenes and I can promise there will be no action or dance for SRK until he is completely recovered.”
Well, we hope Shah Rukh Khan listens to the advice of his doctors and his well-meaning director, and takes adequate rest and time off to heal completely.
