MUMBAI: The keyword #ChennaiExpressArrives has been trending heavily on social media platform Twitter, ever since the news of Balaji Telefilms postponing the release date of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again’ was out.
Both Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone (who’s gained quite a bit of following lately!) are rejoicing about the fact that ‘Chennai Express’ will enjoy a clash free release this Eid.
After much deliberation, we hear, the TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor finally decided to shift the release date of the Akshay Kumar starrer. It will now release a week later, on Independence Day.
Sources close to Balaji say, a representation was made from the makers and stake holders of Chennai Express to Jeetendra, requesting him to reconsider the release date in the interest of both the films. The veteran actor spoke to the Balaji team to do the needful to avert the clash.
“It made better sense to release the Akshay-Imran starrer on the next bank holiday, i.e. August 15,” said an insider.
A while ago, Akshay Kumar had said regarding the clash,”I see it as a positive sign, as Eid is a big day. Two films are releasing on the same day. It is such a big day, that it would accommodate both the films. It is not a big deal and should be taken in a good spirit.”
