MUMBAI: There is a sudden flooding of newcomers in the film industry recently. Another fresh face making her way into Bollywood‘s magical journey is Meera Chopra, the cousin sister of Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra.
Meera Chopra was present for the mahurat of her Bollywood debut film, Satish Kaushik’s ‘Gang of Ghosts’, in Mumbai on May 2, 2013. Meera was spotted in a simple sleeveless beige top and blue denims. She accessorized with bangles and gorgeous black peep toe pumps.
Mahie Gill who shares screen space with the newbie in the film, was dressed for shooting a scene in the film. Wearing a dreamy yesteryear attire – a white ghagra bordered with heavy gold sequinned work, a black choli, a red bindi, heavy gold earrings, a white flower pinned to her braid and black bangles.
Earlier, Meera was scheduled to shoot for the third part of ‘1920’, as her debut film, but when ‘1920’ got delayed by a couple of months, Meera chose Satish Kaushik’s ‘Gang of Ghosts’ in an effort to not wasting time. “I had met Satishji just a few days after I signed ‘1920’. The film was to start on May 1 and Satishji was starting his project as well around the same time. However just a couple of days later, I got a call from Vikram’s office informing me that the film has been pushed back. I then called Satishji, we met and everything fell into place,” shared Meera.
Director Satish Kaushik, praising the debutante actress said, “I knew that she is the girl when I met her recently. However, I was disappointed that she could not do it. Then I got a call from her informing that 1920 has been delayed and so she could do my film. I told her that if Vikram does not have a problem then we are on.”
‘Gang of Ghosts’ is a remake of a Bengali film ‘Bhooter Bhabishyat’ which stars Anupam Kher, Mahie Gill, Sharman Joshi, Chunky Pandey and Meera Chopra in pivotal roles.
