Sarabjit Singh’s sensitive biopic is much in news lately, the director of the film Omung Kumar has already roped in beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the role of Sarabjit Singh’s sister. The much demanding role of playing Sarabjit Singh on screen has landed on actor Randeep Hooda’s lap.
The film is a very sensitive subject which depicts the real life struggle of Sarabjit Singh who was labeled as a terrorist and a spy by Pakistani court. Sarabjit in reality was an Indian who crossed over to Pakistan in 1990 and was alleged of being an Indian spy by the Pakistani government. Sarabjit was caught on an unmarked Indo-Pakistani border area in Pakistan and was arrested by Pakistani Rangers. However, his supporters claim that this case is of a mistaken identity and he was just a normal Indian farmer who strayed away from the border unknowingly.
Filmmaker Omung Kumar who is known to make his films as realistic as possible, has researched on the sensitive case well. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who will be seen playing the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur in the movie has also gone into the depth of the subject in order to do justice to the role. However, the talented actress was in legal trouble for the biopic when Sarabjit’s sister Dilbar Kaur sent a legal notice to Omung Kumar and Aishwarya thinking that the makers of the film will portray her brother in a bad light.
The director of the biopic Omung Kumar took to his twitter account to announce Randeep Hooda’s entry to the biopic as Sarabjit Singh. The highly talented filmmaker tweeted, “Aishwarya and @RandeepHooda in my next film SARBJIT coming soon.”
