MUMBAI: ‘Milan Talkies’, produced by Ekta Kapoor and to-be-directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia has had a lot of upheavals. First Imran Khan left the film, and then upon buzz that Shahid Kapoor was to take his place, Priyanka Chopra left the film too. As everyone knows, Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra used to date each other.
But turns out that Shahid Kapoor hasn’t yet signed on to the film. “It has been offered to me, but I haven’t signed it yet. I am yet to hear the script. I need to hear it first and only then will I decide,’ he said.
This can only mean that Priyanka Chopra left the film for other issues. It also means that Tigmanshu Dhulia will have to give a good narration for Shahid Kapoor to accept the role in ‘Milan Talkies’.
Shahid Kapoor is looking at a resurgence in his career. While ‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’, his first film in two years, releases on 20 September, he also has ‘Rambo Rajkumar’ with director Prabhu Deva coming up within the year.
Shahid Kapoor has also signed a film with his ‘Kaminey’ director Vishal Bhardwaj. He’ll be acting as the titular character ‘Haidar’ in the adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’.
Coincidentally, Tigmanshu Dhulia too was looking at helming an adaptation of ‘Hamlet’. Will Shahid Kapoor’s involvement in ‘Haidar’ affect his role in ‘Milan Talkies’? We’ll know in the days to come.
