The Kick actress Jacqueline Fernandez seem to have a good time ahead in Bollywood, as she has got into the list of many directors after having shared screen space with Salman Khan. Having started her Bollywood career with Sujoy Gosh’s fantasy drama Aladin, which bombed at the box office, the director has now approached her again for his next directorial venture, which is said to be the adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s book The Devotion of Suspect X.
Rumours had it that Sujoy Gosh was considering Deepika Padukone for his adaptation that stars Saif Ali Khan and so he visited the actress in Kolkata, where she was shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s Piku with Amitabh Bachchan. Saif and Deepika have shown brilliant on-screen chemistry in films like Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal in 2009, Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan in 2011 and Homi Adajania’s Cocktail in 2012. And so Deepika might have been his first choice.
However, the director then clarified the rumors saying that it was just a friendly visit to meet Amitabh Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar with whom he shares a good rapport. While talking to a leading daily, Ghosh confirmed the news and said, “I am not even considering her (Deepika) for my film.”
It was then revealed that it was not Deepika Padukone, but Jacqueline Fernandez who has been approached by the ‘Kahaani’ director. The actress told to a leading daily, “Yes, I have been approached by Sujoy. But its too early to talk about it as the paper work is yet to be done. I am excited about reuniting with him after (Aladin) and sharing screen space with Saif.”
Well, it seems Jacqueline Fernandez who is currently shooting for ‘Roy’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor will soon sign Sujoy’s film.
