MUMBAI: Deepika Padukone is a classic ‘SRK’ heroine. Who can forget her incredible debut superstar Shah Rukh Khan, all those years ago? And now, the Bangalorean leggy lass is all set to share screen space with her mentor and favourite superstar all over again in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’.
Priyanka Chopra, as is common knowledge, is an SRK-camp favourite. It is perhaps this common bond that’s been forged by new found best friends in Bollywood i.e. Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
We spotted Deepika (looking lovely in a black blazer, black tube top and army printed pants) at the airport recently, taking off for an undisclosed location as per a prior work commitment.
She said, “I feel Shah Rukh is still the same. He is as talented as he was (then). Now I have got even closer to him than before. You never get bored with him! He always makes me feel special.”
In an industry where actresses have never seen eye-to-eye, it is refreshing to see two leading actresses be so warm and cordial to one another. Reportedly, at a recent awards nomination party, Deepika and Priyanka shared warm vibes. The duo even apparently hung out together throughout the evening. Onlookers were quick to notice and remark that Deepika and Priyanka were getting along “like a house on fire”.
A source revealed to us, “It was surprising since both the actresses have been linked with Ranbir Kapoor. Deepika used to date Ranbir and during the shoot of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, there were rumours of Priyanka seeing the actor. But looks like all that is a thing of the past now.” The actresses have one more thing in common: both are the faces of the same skin care brand as well!
