Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man and Deepika Padukone’s Padmavat are going to have a box-office clash!
A happy news comes for the entire cast and crew of the film Padmavat, or as it was earlier called Padmavati, because it has finally got a release date. Deepika Padukone’s film has now got a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). But shockingly, it is going to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man.
A report of Bollywood Hungama quotes a close source to Akki’s film saying, “It’s insanity. We announced the release date for Pad Man six months ago. Now for them to jump in with Padmavat at this late hour is absurd. I am still hoping they will change their mind and release later.”
On the other hand, another source close to Padmavat says, “It’s January 25 for us. We have waited too long. We can’t wait any more. Huge financial stake are involved.”
It is going to be a big box-office clash and even the trade analysts are shocked at the sudden change of events. Trade analyst Atul Mohan says, “No doubt if this happens and Padmavat or Padmavati actually releases on January 25, then the party plans of Pad Man and Aiyaary will be washed out. The hype and curiosity surrounding Padmavat is so huge that I doubt anybody would try to take a chance. But looking at the technical part, both Pad Man and Aiyaary have already started blocking and securing single screens for 2 weeks at least. That would mean lesser screens for Padmavat and the battle begins at plexes for showcasing.”
The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. On the other hand, Pad Man stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
Let’s see if the makers decide to avert this clash or go on with this new release date!
