MUMBAI: Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant, among many other things, has a solid heart of gold. It is no wonder then, that we saw the original item queen Rakhi at an HIV/ AIDS Awareness rally in the city.
Bhavya Foundation had organised a huge rally organised by and Med Scape India for HIV/AIDS awareness in Mumbai and the event saw quite a star-studded turnout. We spotted Rakhi in a bright red tee-shirt, blue jeans and pink sunglasses, with her now-famous trademark fringed hairdo. We also spotted Dr Sunita Dube of Med Scape India, Dr. Neeraj Dube, Bollywood lyricist Sameer Anjaan and a special visitor from abroad, Hollywood actor J. Brandon Hill at the rally. Also present was Actress Nishigandha Wad.
Rakhi Sawant was recently in the news for her bold appearance on reality TV show ‘Big Boss’. She was brought in as a special guest to spice up the show. She was also said to be depressed and upset that the Bengali version of ‘The Dirty Picture’ has been stalled, due to Ekta Kapoor objecting to the title.
The bindaas lady said, “I don’t want to comment on it right now. I am very depressed because the film is not happening. My only message to Ekta Kapoor is that I love her, I just love her. She is my idol. I respect her a lot, she is also a woman like me, I hope she understands me. I am sure Ekta ‘meri zindagi mein taang nahi aadagegi. I am 1000 percent sure that this film will be made. Nobody can stop it. I know Ekta zaroor man jayegi.”
After Vidya Balan, Rakhi would have probably been the perfect choice to essay the role of ‘Silk Smitha’, in the Bengali version of the biopic on the item girl’s life and times. “I was very excited about the Bengali version of ‘The Dirty Picture’. I even started learning Bengali for the film. I know I am sexy; there is nobody sexier than me. I am perfect for ‘The Dirty Picture’,” the 33-year-old said.
