Abhishek Bachchan has finally broken his silence on Dhoom 3, and said that the real custodians of Dhoom 3 are Uday Chopra and himself. Actually, come to think of this, than Abhishek Bachchan is not wrong, because Uday and him have been part of the journey since it began in 2004. The other characters of the film have come and gone, leaving their mark.
“Pardon the immodesty, but Uday Chopra and I are Dhoom. The franchise chronicles the ongoing adventures of Jai and Ali, that’s Uday and me. That’s the format of the franchise. The other characters may come and go. But we go on forever,” said Abhishek when asked about the latest installment of the film: Dhoom 3, and also about it’s casting which has been the talk of the town.
Abhishek Bachchan also said that it’s been a great journey for him as an actor, from Dhoom to Dhoom 2 and now Dhoom 3. To reiterate himself, he said, “Dhoom was all about the three boys: Uday Chopra, John Abraham and me; Dhoom 2 was again about three boys: Uday, Hrithik Roshan and me; and now Dhoom 3 is once again about three boys: Uday, Aamir Khan and me.”
Abhishek feels that the presence of a new director in the franchise brings all new challenges to be table. Sanjay Gadhvi directed the first two installments, and Vijay Krishna Acharya, the man who has penned all the three, has directed the third one. According to Abhishek, there is a new feel and flavor to the franchise, because of the change in direction team. He feels that in the previous two films, the focus was on making a fun film, but Dhoom 3 is edgier and darker.
When asked about Aamir Khan, Abhishek said, “We’ve loved and admired him for the kind of cinema he works in. Working with him was great learning experience.”
Dhoom 3 has had a strong buzz going around prior to it’s release, more because the three actors: Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan have had no releases for a year now. This would be their only release in 2013.
Here’s looking forward to December 20, 2013, when Dhoom 3 arrives in theatres!
