Ungli has been trying to secure a release date since forever now. Always it hits a roadblock and gets postponed. Rensil D’Silva the director has been trying earnestly to take his film to the theatre but isn’t able to until recently. The film has finally secured a release date; November 21.
Ungli is a story of a bunch of youngsters. But the actors who played those young roles have matured now. The film has Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.
When Rensil was asked to explain why the film is getting delayed so much, after the hackneyed reply on how two songs are yet to be shot, he got down to the real reason. He had said that being a multi-starrer getting the dates of all of them together had become a task for him.
When he did manage a few dates, Sanjay Dutt was unfortunately sent to jail and so his scenes couldn’t be canned. Karan Johar, producer of the film, had earlier too announced a release date which got cancelled.
Well, finally it seems the film is ready for release and we hope the story is as relevant now as it was when the film was shot.
