Generally, you would see filmmakers release comics of films after their release. But Homi Adajania is going a step further and is releasing a novel on the film. In fact, the film has been inspired from this novel which was kept under wraps.
According to the director, Kersi Kambatta, the co-writer on the film, developed this novel from Homi’s short story Finding Fanny. They later based the screenplay of the film on the novel but he wouldn’t let it release. The director wants his film to release first rather than the book. In fact, they are glad that the novel is happening later as now it is a much fatter version than the original.
Well, Finding Fanny looks very promising and we support Homi’s decision to not release the book before. Often such adaptations keep people high and dry. Finding Fanny is releasing on September 12 and stars Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur and Naseeruddin Shah.
