First Look: Akshay Kumar Locks Independence Day 2018 For GOLD

Akshay Kumar is on the top of the mountain right now with his three consecutive hit films in 2016. The superstar is enjoying the best phase of his career and his films have not only been appreciated by the audience but are also loved by the critics. His last film Rustom released on Independence Day this year and the actor surprised his fans by announcing his 2017 film Crack which would be releasing on Independence Day 2017.

If this was not enough, the Airlift star has something special in the store for his fans but the fans will have to wait till 2018 for it. Akshay Kumar today officially announced his 2018 Independence Day release titled GOLD.  It is a historical sports drama film which will show India winning its first gold medal as a free nation in the 1948 Olympics. Akki fans, you can rejoice now and expect one more patriotic film from the Khiladi Kumar.

Akshay Kumar took to twitter and officially blocked Independence Day 2018 for GOLD. He wrote on twitter, “Set in 1948, the historic story of India’s first Olympic medal as a free nation, #GOLD coming to you on 15th August, 2018!”

GOLD is all set to go on floors next year and it will be helmed by the Talaash director Reema Kagti and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment.

Interestingly, this would be the first time Akshay Kumar would be joining hands with Excel Entertainment for a film. Another blockbuster film by Akshay Kumar is on its way.
