MUMBAI: Several stars have switched to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, so that they can interact and stay connected with their fans. These include the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, who came back after a hiatus of twenty weeks, Salman Khan and several others. Sadly, the biggest problem one faces, is to identify whether these celebrity pages are real or fake?
Recently, fans were curious to see ‘Vishwaroop’ star Kamal Haasan’s twitter handle ‘maiamkhassan’ on twitter. A few of his fans, happy to see the star on Twitter, also welcomed him with messages. But sadly, it turned out to be a FAKE handle.
Kamal Haasan’s PRO confirmed the news and said it was a fake account created by a mischief monger. What’s even worse, some of the prominent celebrities like Shehkar Kapur, SS Rajamouli, actor Nani, Khushboo were happy to see the actor on twitter and sent welcome messages only to get fooled.
This is what Shekhar Kapur and Khushboo’s tweet said:
@maiamkhassan Yes! Its the real Kamal Hassan. Welcome 2 twitter .. a genius in many unpredictable guises

A hearty welcome to @maiamkhassan to the beautiful warm n mad world of twitter..Sir nice to have u here… Nakhat..

Kamal Hassan’s publicist said that star is not on Twitter and legal action would be taken on the fraudster trying to cheat Kamal Hassan’s fans across the globe.
Well all we can say, if Kamal Hassan’s FAKE id has created so much buzz, what would it be when the star really joins the bandwagon of his counterparts on social networking sites. That’s why he is termed as the ‘Ulaganayagan’ – Universal Hero.
