Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met all the representatives for a global campaign including Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto for his most ambitious scheme Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative. It’s one of the kind initiatives that collaborates Bollywood stars and government on one platform which takes global action on women empowerment.
The actress along with Priyanka Chopra had launched a new campaign ‘Girl Rising India’ earlier this year with an initiative of changing lives of girls across the country. This initiative that took off in February is set to engage kids through films. Films and documentaries are used for the promotions of rights of girls.

This meet with PM Modi was to discuss further scenario of the campaign that included gender based discrimination in India and much more. The prime minister also said the Girl Rising campaign in India should focus especially on the problem of female foeticide.
Through powerful storytelling and visible advocacy, Girl Rising’s India campaign is designed to spark grassroots, community-led change for girls. It is for the first time Bollywood stars are coming together and joining the campaign with PM, corporate leaders and government in order to raise awareness regarding the importance of girl education and valuing them in today’s world.
