Madhuri Dixit, as we all know, is a firebrand performer. A fact that has been quite literally interpreted in the new poster of her latest film, Gulaab Gang.
Directed by Soumik Sen, this seemingly action-packed drama film, based on the life of activist Sampat Pal, will see Madhuri Dixit play the lead role. Madhuri, from time immemorial, has played the sweet, innocent, typical demure heroine. But this will be the first time she will be seen in such a fearless, feisty avatar.
The latest poster from the film sees Madhuri don a never-seen-before avatar. Clad in red and beige, Madhuri’s ensemble matches the fiery backdrop perfectly: It almost seems like she’s at the heart of a blazing fire, brandishing weapons. Seen in her hands are an axe and a sickle, her eyes betray anger, angst and a lust for blood. her hair is wild, loose-flowing and adds to the beauty of the image.
It is almost as if Madhuri is channeling her inner Durga goddess in the poster. Poised in mid-flight, Madhuri looks ready to attack.
Gulaab Gang is presented by Bharat Shah and Sahara Movie Studios. Juhi Chawla also plays the lead role, but alas she is not seen in the first look poster. Produced by Anubhav Sinha (of Ra.One fame), Gulaab Gang will be Madhuri Dixit’s much-awaited return to celluloid. Along with Madhuri, yet another talented actress of the 1990’s i.e. Juhi Chawla too will make her full-fledged Bollywood comeback.
