While his superhero film ‘Krrish 3’ is busy breaking records at the box office, father and son duo – Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan are already planning the next sequel to this franchise.

Confirmed the Director Rakesh Roshan, “I will start working on the sequel soon.”

Interestingly, the new angle to watch out for in the next film from this franchise is that – the character Krrish may get a sidekick superhero, à la Batman‘s Robin. Explained Roshan, “Due to public demand, we may include some sidekick characters as well.”

This sounds like a great move from Rakesh Roshan, which is likely to increase the following for brand Krrish ten-fold.  But perhaps the producers of Krrish 3 can also contemplate inclusion of other already successful superheroes, instead of just sidekicks?

Taking cue from Hollywood – in 2012, when Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures released The Avengers combining all of the superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the box office opening of an astounding $85.7 million (US only) was there for all to see.

In fact, the next sequels of these individual superheroes then took a tremendous boost from The Avengers in turn. Iron Man 3 released in 2013 with popular Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark opened to a humungous $174.1 million at the US box office. In India, Iron Man 3 took the biggest opening amongst all Hollywood flicks released here. From recent examples Thor: The Dark World is currently dominating the US box office and doing relatively well at the Indian box office.

Hence, another sequel to the already prosperous superhero franchise of Krrish 3 certainly makes great sense, and the addition of more superheroes can only perhaps multiply its success exponentially. How about Hrithik Roshan‘s Krrish teamed up with Shah Rukh Khan‘s Ra.One in the next film?

The two have already teamed up for Krrish 3 with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies VFX having provided the special effects for the film!

Well, the thought certainly matches Hrithik Roshan’s ideology when he says, “If you are working towards breaking barriers and pushing your cinema and your imagination forward, the universe will support you.”
