MUMBAI: Varanasi truly came to Mumbai yesterday, with Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush’s upcoming film ‘Raanjhanaa’, which kick-started promotions in the filmy capital of the country.

The entire set resembled Benaras at Film City in Goregaon, where the ethereal beauty and the Tollywood superstar began promoting their upcoming film, ‘Raanjhanaa’. Sonam and Dhanush made their entry riding a chariot, and she took our breath away, dressed in a stunning pale gold lehenga.

Director Aanand Rai was ecstatic, when he said this was the most desi of all entries possible. “The audience are in for a huge surprise. This will be one of the most desi (Indian) entries of all time!”

And the film’s producer Krishika Lulla added , “We wanted to do something that represented the essence of the film and its setting, hence the idea of having an event in true Banarasi style. We want the audience to experience the real flavour of the film and return home with it.”

Sonam couldn’t contain her excitement either, when she gushed about the film. “It was a great process. I play two different ages. You have to perform differently and your voice is different too. It was an incredible opportunity. I am blessed to be a part if Raanjhanaa.”
