BOX OFFICE: ‘Gippi’ Sees Very Poor Start

MUMBAI: Karan Johar’s ‘Gippi’, directed by debutant director Sonam Nair, and starring teenaged actors Riya Vij and Taaha Shah, along with Divya Dutta, has seen a very poor opening at the box office on Day 1.

‘Gippi’, which released on 10 May, 2013, has had a dull first day at the ticketing counter . The coming-of-age film, targeted at the youth audience, garnered collections of only about Rs 8.6 million (Rs 86 lacs) net, Friday.

The film is made on quite a small budget though.

With lackluster reviews and dull trending,  Gippi’ is unlikely to sustain.
