[tps_footer]Aamir Khan’s intolerance comment is still lingering in the air. The superstar invited a trouble for himself when he had once stated that India is an intolerant country. With many views and opinions, the matter soon got political in its stance. Until now it was being assumed that the row is now over and sorted. Seems like, the intolerance debate has still not found its closure.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar brought back the controversial topic when he was attending a book launch on Saturday. The authority indirectly targeted Aamir Khan by saying, “One actor had said that his wife wants to live out of India. It was an arrogant statement. If I am poor and my house is small, I will still love my house and always dream to make a bungalow out of it.”
Though Parrikar did not name Aamir Khan, it was quite obvious that he was referring to the Pk actor. The matter became a battle of words when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi went against Parrikar and said that “RSS & Parrikarji want to teach everyone a lesson. Here’s a lesson for you: hate is the preserve of the coward and it never wins.”
Even though many parties slammed Parrikar for bringing back the issue, he has now found support in senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy. Swamy took to twitter and posted, “Why so much hu ha about Parrikar’s statement on Amir? If Amir is ignorant that to love janma bhoomi is unconditional then he needs a teacher.”
All we hope is that the intolerance debate now sees an end!
