Things are getting bigger and bigger with each passing day for Salman Khan‘s Jai Ho. Right from unveiling the first look, to the theatrical trailer launch – everything about Jai Ho has been different.

Salman Khan created Jai Ho‘s first look poster, along with fans. This is probably first time in the world that a movie-star made his own movie’s poster, with active participation from his fans. Salman tweeted, “Maine paint kiya, aapne click kiya, Friday ko we made the poster.” (I painted it, you clicked it, and we made the poster by Friday)

Post this, on December 13, 2013 Jai Ho created the road block, where exactly at 9PM all the channels of the Star Network showed the first trailer of the film. And lastly, Salman Khan had promised his fans to release the trailer at Chandan Cinema in Juhu, Mumbai – and he kept his promise. On December 14, 2013, amidst the frenzy of his fans and supporters he unveiled the longer theatrical trailer of Jai Ho.

In his welcome speech, Sunil Lulla said, “The wait is finally over and the people’s man is back with a bang. Jai Ho! This film is about the youth, and lending a hand to the common man. And who can do it better than Salman Khan? Be prepared to be entertained!”

A cheerful crowd of around five hundred odd fans had gathered at the Chandan Cinema, eagerly waiting to see the theatrical trailer with Salman Khan. They went ballistic the moment Salman Khan arrived. The two-minute cut was played for them. Fans couldn’t control their excitement. They enthusiastically cheered for the superstar all the time the trailer played on the screen.

When asked about the change in the name of the film from Mental to Jai Ho, Salman Khan in his usual style said, “Well, firstly it was our father who did not like the title Mental. One should respect their parents’ opinion, even when they are big enough to become parents themselves. And secondly if the film was title Mental, then certain section of the media would have addressed me as Mental Khan.” This made had everyone in splits.

When asked about when was the last time Salman stood for justice, he replied that he stands for justice every single day. He further added, “One must always raise his voice against injustice, and if you do not, then you are just as guilty.”

Delighted with the crowd’s enthusiasm, Sohail Khan said, “Salman is one of the very few actors in this generation who can pull off anything – romance, action and comedy.”

Jai Ho is Sohail Khan’s fifth film as a director. The other four were: Auzaar (1997), Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1998), Hello Brother (1999) and Maine Dil Tujhko Diya (2002).

Eros International and Sohail Khan Productionz have co-produced Jai Ho, which is slated for a worldwide release on January 24, 2014.
