Jay Bhanushali who made a successful transition from being an actor on television to anchoring Zee TV’s Dance India Dance is all set for a new chapter in his career with Desi Kattey.
Jay Bhanushali is making his debut in Bollywood with action-drama Desi Kattey, said that his character in the film eventually turned him into a shooting expert as he is essaying a role of a pistol manufacturer.
“I play this character called Gyani. He is a boy who makes desi pistol since he was a child. It is a story about how this boy represents India as a shooter in Olympics. I became a shooting expert after dealing with pistols so much. When the story was narrated to me by Anand I thought this is the film I should start my film career with,” stated a very excited and upbeat Jay Bhanushali.
“I have worked hard for this look. It has been almost eight months since I shaved. I also had to lose weight for the first half of the film but in the second half I had to look little bit muscular. So, I had to work on the transformation. When I was signing this film my thought process was that the film I do should not be similar to my co-actors who have come from television to films. This film is related to gangsters and sports.” said Jai who had to work hard on his look for the film.
Desi Kattey also stars Suniel Shetty who is very happy with the way the film has shaped up.
“I accept the change around me. I don’t like to complain about this generation or the previous generation. I accept both success and failure and just focus on my work and if a film fails, I move on to a new movie,” said Suniel Shetty.
Desi Kattey is being directed by Anand Kumar and is set to hit theatres on August 28, 2014.
