MUMBAI: Bollywood yummy mummies Kajol and Juhi Chawla, former actresses and now mothers, were present at the Hindustan Times (HT) Scholarship awards ceremony, held in Shanmukhanand Hall in Mumbai.

Kajol was there to felicitate the winners of the scholarship awards, looking lovely in a teal green dress. Presenting the awards to 50 of the brightest students in Mumbai, was Olympic award-winning boxer Vijender Singh.

Kajol was an apt choice to preside over the scholarship awards, as the lady is so intelligent and well-read herself; much unlike very many Bollywood divas. She’s always given off this ultra-smart, intelligent vibe and the lady can hold her end of any conversation most beatifically.

Through the HT Scholarship awards, the selection of 50 of the brightest students involved a gruelling two-tier selection and interview process from among the 57,000 applicants. The winners from class 5 to class 9 were awarded scholarships of Rs 50,000 each. The ceremony also saw a lively panel discussion moderated by Soumya Bhattacharya; with Kajol and Vijender contributing to it most actively.

And Juhi Chawla was the proud mama, who’s intelligent daughter Jhanvii Mehta was one among the 50 winners of the HT scholarship award. Juhi and her husband sat in the front row, and were cheering their young 6th grader daughter on throughout the ceremony. We managed to caught up with Juhi, who was beaming from ear-to-ear once beti Jhanvii won the award: “It was all her doing and hard work, I am very proud.”
