MUMBAI: Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Kochadaiyaan’ just released its first look poster with the superstar portraying a dual role.
‘Kochadaiyaan’ starring Rajinikanth opposite Bollywood hottie Deepika Padukone is by far the most-anticipated film of the year. The film also stars Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Shobhana, Nassar and Aadhi.
The first look poster has Rajinikanth playing a dual role as father and son, where the father’s look is inspired by Lord Krishna and the son’s look resembles that of an emperor.
K.S. Ravikumar, the writer of the film’s script, has claimed that it drew reference to an alternate name of the Lord Shiva, and also has been partly inspired by the name of the Pandya Dynasty king Kochadaiyaan Ranadhiran. The plot is a fictional account with small references to Indian history.
The historical drama film is being produced by Rajini’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth in collaboration with Eros. The team is working fast and hard to soon release the trailer of the film as well.
The cinematography of this film which has been shot using motion capture technology in 3D, has been handled by Rajiv Menon and the music score is by AR Rahman. The film is expected to hit the screens on July 5, 2013.
