Meet Aanal Kotak: Her Inspiring Journey From Simple Girl To Celebrity Chef

A love for food and the countless hours spent in the kitchen fired the imagination of the simple girl from Ahmedabad who is today a much-feted celebrity Chef in Gujarat

She’s very much a true blue Gujarati, whose story began in Ahmedabad. Born in a business family and an only daughter, she had lived a very sheltered life and was expected to conform to the wishes of her conservative family.

She took up a challenge to cook for 50 people’s food at family gathering when suddenly caterer didn’t turn up, when she was just 12!

At the age of 19, she went for cooking competition, where she was rejected and offered to host the show because tv channel people felt she is too young to become cooking expert on the tv show. she turned down the offer and next year, when she again went for cooking competition, she came back home with Gujarat’s Youngest Cooking Expert title.

Without a second thought, she ran off from her own engagement ceremony, to give audition in Rasoi Show – regional cooking show on Colors Gujarati (Previously known as Etv)

Her passion didnt let her stop here, looking at her junoon, her husband supported her and they created Gujarat’s first ever fine dine restaurant The Secret Kitchen

She didnt stop here. She became the first chef to bring Gujarati fine-dine to world of hauté-cuisine. She launched her most loved restaurant, “Aanal Kotak’s Akshada”.

As tough as she may sound as chef, she have extreme soft heart. she tied up with Robinhood Army and pledged that she wont let any children hungry in the city.
