Padma Shri Award To Be Taken Away From Saif Ali Khan?

Saif-Padma-ShreePadma Awards is one of the highest civilian Awards and its great achievement to be honoured by it.

With a latest buzz on Padma award, it is said that government contemplating to snatch away the prestigious Padma Shri Award from actor Saif Ali Khan that was awarded to him on April 7, 2010.

Reportedly with the ongoing case on Saif Ali Khan, the Union Ministry has asked the Mumbai police to quickly wind up the case process of him which was registered against him over a incident.

Case was registered against Saif Ali Khan when he entered into a restaurant brawl with an NRI few years back. The case is pending since seven months.

This issue came up when an RTI activist demanded that Saif Ali Khan’s Padma awards should be taken back from him, as there is a case pending against him.

On reply to the activist the Ministry said, “As regard to Saif Ali Khan, no response to this Ministry’s letter No 1/3112014-Public dated August 20, 2014 has been received from Mumbai Police. Mumbai Police has been reminded to expedite the matter.”

The case was registered against Saif when he was dining out with lady love Kareena Kapoor in 2012 at Wasabi at the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel in Mumbai. Saif Ali Khan thwacked an NRI businessman, Iqbal Sharma, also dining at the same restaurant.

A verbal and allegedly physical altercation ensued over a simple matter of the businessman asking Saif and company to keep their voices down. Things turned ugly with the businessman getting a bloody nose and reporting the matter to the Colaba police station.
