Gabbar Is Back: Shruti Haasan Records Song In One Hour

After singing for her sister Akshara Haasan and Sonakshi Sinha, Shruti Haasan finally sings for herself in her upcoming film Gabbar Is Back, which also stars Akshay Kumar. The song is a modern, edgy and pop love number. That’s not all, apparently, the actress recorded the song in just one hour, without taking any break.

A source was quoted saying, “Shruti was shooting in the village of Pollachi for one of her Tamil films. In between her film schedules and her numerous brand shoots, she had just half a day to complete this recording. After a two-hour car ride to Coimbatore and then a flight to Mumbai, Shruti landed and went straight into the recording studio.

She had prepped the song in advance and had worked on the voicing so that she can maximise her output at the studio. And that’s exactly what happened. The music director got what he wanted from her for the entire song within an hour, post which she took a flight back to resume her shoot in Pollachi.”

In case you didn’t know, the beautiful actress is a trained classical singer. She already sang two songs this year. One for Sonakshi, which was ‘Joganiya’ in Tevar. Another was ‘Stereophonic Sannata’ for her sister Akshara in Shamitabh. Both the songs impressed the audiences. Well, we are really excited to hear the new song by the very talented Bollywood actress.

Gabbar Is Back is an official remake of 2002 Tamil film Ramanaa. Directed by Krish, the film also features Prakash Raj and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Chitrangada Singh have a cameo in the film. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film was earlier scheduled to release in January, but due to some reasons, the film is postponed. Now most likely, it will hit theatres on May 1, 2015.
