A BJP leader of Haryana had offered a bounty of Rs 10 crore to behead Padmavati star Deepika Padukone!
Suraj Pal Amu was the BJP leader of Haryana who had offered bounty to anyone who beheads Deepika Padukone. The political leader has been against the actress for working in the film Padmavati. He feels that the film distorts the history.
After his open threats, he had received a show-case notice from the BJP President of the state, Subhash Barala ”for giving a statement contrary to the party line”. In the latest developments, Amu has resigned from his post in the party. He has also said that Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana is ”so arrogant”.
Talking to ANI, Amu says, ”With a heavy heart I have resigned from the post I had in BJP. I am pained at the behaviour of Haryana CM. I have never seen a BJP CM so arrogant who doesn’t respect party workers and community representatives.”
On one hand Amu wanted the state to ban the film. On the other hand, Khattar has clearly said that the state will take decision on the film’s release only after CBFC takes a call on it.
Amu also told TOI, ”There was no problem in meeting the Rajput leaders who are on a warpath for the past fortnight. He should not have humiliated them and should have taken the memorandum from them.”
The film has already been banned in the states of Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. And now Nitish Kumar, the CM of Bihar has also announced that he won’t let the film release unless necessary cuts are made.
